VTG Geisha Girl Decorative Plate/Hand Painted

The hand made authenticity is very apparent on this plate. It is easy to see where the paint exceeds the boundary lines of the artwork background in several areas and is  part of what makes this plate unique. There are several dark spots on the plate that looks like part of the original production. I have tried to show allof these areas in the photos. No chips or cracks. One can see that this is truly a unique and distinquished piece of art.

This Oriental piece was found in an estate sale in Macon, MS in a home full of Oriental/Asian art and numerous Majolica pieces. The locals knew the owner of the estate as "Sugar Pie." He is a well-known and respected entrepreneur and past City Alderman for the City of Macon. He and his late wife, Ann, collected many beautiful things over many years while they lived in one of the city's oldest historical homes. Although his wife's illness prompted them to downsize, they still kept many treasures, this beautiful plate being one of them. I'm sure "Sugar Pie" would love for this to be passed on to become another's treasure!
