Ginger jars are used in China for storing all kinds of spices. In the West ginger jars are being used for various purposes. On this ginger jar you can see the vintage chinoiserie decorations interspersed with clean lines. This Gantz original features a classic blue and white Bella Casa rose design.
This beautiful hand-painted ginger jar was found in an estate sale in Macon, MS. The locals knew the owner of the estate as "Sugar Pie." He is a well-known and respected entrepreneur and past City Alderman for the City of Macon. He and his late wife, Ann, collected many beautiful things over many years while they lived in one of the city's oldest historical homes. Although Ann's illness prompted them to downsize, they still kept many treasures, this decor piece being one of them. I'm sure they would love to pass it on now to be another's treasure!
